GO HIKING TO TROLLFOSSEN AND BRUKOLLEN IN RINGERIKE!
To go hiking gives one a feeling of freedom like nothing else, and one doesn't have to travel far in terms of finding great places to do such in Ringerike! The name "trollfossen" loosely translates to "the troll waterfall", thus one can easily imagine the excitement and curisotrity the name itself sparks in people- especially the kids!
Trollfossen
This is an unique hike, with a breathtaking view of the many waterfalls and the charming nature surrounding it in Fjellelva, the innermost part of Strømsoddbygda. Even if the waterfalls seem somewhat smaller on some days, and there's a lack of water there, the mountains formation does not dissapoint, as it's still as beautiful as ever! This is truly an experience worth taking your time to explore!
The hike till Trollfossen can for example start of at Buvatnet, or Bukollplassen (the latter shortens the trip by 2,5km). The hike starts of on a smaller gravel covered road, before one enters a blue-marked path for the rest of the walk (marks are set by Ringerike Tourist Information). The path is well constructed and marked all the way, thus one simply can't get lost. However, be aware a more challenged and elevated ground on some places along the way.
Bukollen
When one has made it to Trollfossen, why not aim for the stars and walk for an additional 2km, and get to see the gorgeous view from Bukollen yourself? This is a very exciting hike, with it's 1.121 meters over sea level! Bukollen is situated in Flå municipality, on the boarder between Strømsoddbygda and Vassfaret.
After about 1km from Brænnsetervollen, through the dense forest of flourishing vegetation, the mountain scenery appeares like a revelation. From here on, the rest of the hike is pretty much childsplay. The path is well-constructed and marked, though a few areas can be more demanding.
The road to Bukollplass (starting point). From Sokna, take of to Strømsoddbygda. Turn right at the end of Buvannet (lake), towards Vidalen. From the centre of Sokna there's about 29km till the spacious parking lot at Bukollplassen. Toll is 60kr, payed by cash or card.
Total length to/from Bukollplassen - Bukollen, through Trollfossen is about 12km.
Total estimate of time on this trip, is about 3 hours (2h till,1h from).
