About
Art Workshop at Fru G.
In the 'Figurmakeriet' you can learn about this old handicraft:
In the 19th century, Italian figurine makers emigrated from i.a. Bagni di Lucca to Norway. We learned the craft from the son of one of the emigrants, Valente, who ran a figurine maker's workshop in Oslo until approx. 1960. Most of the gift / interior products are our own design , hand decorated and unique. We are proud to carry on this old craft tradition.
In our shop you will find a selection from FigurMakeriet.
Get inspired while visiting our Art Workshop! Here we sell paintings, collages and installations. Much of the work is that of the host. Occasionally we also have guest exhibitors in the gallery. You are welcome to experience a rich selection of creativity that unfolds in many different ways.
About Fru G.
Fru G. is a country style cafe, shop and art workshop, in 'the midle of no where', though only 5 minutes from the E6 motorway, an near the medieval Ringsaker church. In the building from 1850 one of the living rooms is used as a cozy shop. Here we sell our own unique products, from the 'FigurMakeriet'. In addition, you will also find seasonal products from our own garden and gourmet products from local producers.
Garden Cafe
The other rooms on the ground floor are used for the café and for parties. Here, "the house has decided" and it is therefore decorated with vintage furniture. And, of course, the coffee is served in old porcelain coffe cans. When the weather permits, you can enjoy lunch, coffee and home baked goods by the garden pond in our idyllic garden or treat yourself to a touch of luxury with Fru G's Afternoon-Tea in surroundings created for the English afternoon tea tradition (NOTE! Afternoon Tea should be ordered two days in advance).
The Green house in the garden is our own little "chambre separee" and is suitable for groups of up to 10 people if you want to sit a little sheltered.
Opening hours
Fru G. is open from April to December.
Opening hours can be found on our website.
