About
Vedervang farm is located in the stunning Lensbygda close to Lena, and offers products from own potato field, market garden, and kitchen.
Its welcoming farm shop is operated on a self-service basis most of the time. Vedervang offers seasonal vegetables, delicious potato salad, brown bread and bread rolls, and – last but not least – their own succulent, long-lasting signature cake. The cake only contains gluten free ingredients, but Vedervang does not have a gluten free kitchen. All processed products contain the farm’s own potatoes, i.e. those deemed as “not good enough for sale”. This is a small step in the effort to reduce waste.
The farm shop also offers organic eggs from the neighbouring farm, and local honey from Gransmarka only a few kilometres away. There is usually homemade rowan jelly available as well (delicious with meat!). The processed products are made in limited quantities, and ordering in advance is recommended if there is something you just HAVE to have and would like it fresh. In the fridge and freezer, there is usually potato salad, brown bakery products, and cake.
The farmer at Vedervang has been growing organic potatoes since the 1990s, and offers the variety ‘Nansen’ which both tastes delicious and is versatile in use (as potatoes often are). Nansen is low to medium mealy, and is suitable for lots more than just boiling! The organic Vedervang potatoes is very popular among customers, both locally and at a regional level where they are sold via REKO rings in the Oslo and Viken area. It is also possible to deliver to these areas, subject to advance agreement, without using the REKO ring.
The vegetables are grown in a market garden where all the work is done by hand – proper handicraft! Home-sewn textiles and environmentally friendly kitchen utensils in wood are also for sale.
Products can be delivered to your company, whether it is a shop, café, sports lounge, or similar.
The product range follows the season and varies in step with the time of year.
