Local vegetables and foods
Just outside Kongsvinger is the Skarstad family farm. Here we harvest fresh, crunchy crisp vegetables every day in season and fill the farm market on the farm with, among other things, tomatoes, cucumbers, salads, cabbage and root crops, carrots and potatoes. We welcome you to a pleasant and rural trade with a focus on Norwegian and good raw materials.
We sow and grow our own vegetables in our own greenhouses, before we plant them out in the open where we look after them until they are ready to harvest and sell. The farm market is therefore only open during the Norwegian vegetable season, which extends from 1 May to 31 October.
In addition to our own vegetables, we also have tasty food from other small-scale producers, several of which are local. We have, among other things, eggs from real free-range hens, real farm-raised cream made with milk from Norwegian indigenous cattle and freshly baked bread from the local baker. You get both non-traveled and short-traveled food at Skarstad.
The farm cafe at Skarstad
In our cozy farm cafe, we serve home-made dishes based on our own seasonal produce, ice cream, coffee and other local food from the farm market.
Settle into the sun wall with a cup of coffee, lower your skates on the large terrace, enjoy them with a freshly baked cinnamon bun by the pantry or enjoy your lunch while the children run around in the playground. In the playground, the children can play, say hello to Frank the rooster and his hens or smile broadly with delicious home baked goods and ice cream in the sun.
If you're on the go, you can naturally bring a biste to the evening shift, a piece of cake for the afternoon coffee, or simply take the whole dinner home - easy and comfortable.
