Cross-country skiing along the old Valdres Line. 

Over the past few years, a number of trail-grooming experts, municipalities, associations, and enthusiasts have created a continuous ski trail along the disused railway line between Eina and Dokka. A gentle, low-intensity option for those not particularly fond of downhill skiing, and an excellent opportunity for the more avid cross-country skiers to hone their poling technique.

This disused railway meanders through beautiful scenery from Eina, via Skjelbreia, Trevatn, Hov, Fluberg, and along the northern end of Randsfjorden into the Dokka Delta before ending up at Dokka station.
The entire stretch is 46 kilometres long.

However, there are many access points.
A popular section is between Fall and Skrukli station where you can enjoy stunning views and a spectacular river gorge.  
This is also the part of the route with the most hills.
But relax, it is a railway track and will never be particularly challenging.

The route is available at Skiforeningen's website, except for the northern part which can be found at the Skisporet website. 
Every winter there is a fun skiing event along the route. This is open to all, and is called “gå’ ta banen”.

Food and drink are served at the stations, and the aim is to get people out skiing.

Show consideration during your visit, and follow these basic guidelines: 
• Adhere to the code of conduct for public right of access
• Park at designated car parks and campsites
• Take your litter home or use the bins provided
• Remember the rules for keeping dogs on a lead; respect campfire bans and restrictions, and use designated sites only
• Try to use local shops along the route
• Drive nicely, but not too nicely – keep up with the traffic
