About
D/S Skibladner - history in motion
Skibladner is the world’s oldest paddle steamer in timetabled service and one of Norway’s best-loved attractions, being 167 years old in August 2023. She is still powered by her steam engines from 1888, and offers a uniquely authentic experience of steamship travel in the 1800s.
Season 2023: Timeabled service: June 20. – August 13.
The most scenic view of Lake Mjøsa is available on the paddle steamer Skibladner on a beautiful summer's day.
Six days a week at 09:30, the sound of the ships's bell and steam whistle sound notice that the boat is embarking on its journey from Gjøvik pier.
Her maiden voyage was in August 1856, making her the world’s oldest preserved paddle steamer still in timetabled service.
