About
This section starts by Mjøsparken in Brumunddal, and follows the Mjøstråkk route past the Prøysen Museum and Ringsaker church to Moelv. It then continues on the eastern side of Mjøsa across Trondhiemske Kongevei to Lillehammer. The distance leaves enough time to explore some of the attractions along the way.
If you prefer to stop and see some more, it is possible to spend the night at Steinvik Camping in Moelv.
The leg starts in the brand new Mjøsparken recreational area – the ideal spot for families with children on a sunny day. It then continues as a relatively gentle ride on tarmac towards Moelv. Among the attractions along the way is the Prøysen Museum, which offers guided tours, exhibitions and catering. A few kilometres further along Mjøstråkk, you will reach Ringsaker church which is open to visitors all summer and is well worth a stop.
From Moelv, Mjøstråkk follows the old National Tourist Route a bit further up from Mjøsa. This stretch can be busy with traffic until you leave route 213 and turn onto the old Trondhiemske Kongevei – a gravel road taking you past old crofts and venerable manor farms. Just before Skog farm, St.Olav’s spring is emerging from underneath a boulder (an important stop for pilgrims). Swimming is possible at Bekkodden recreation ground.
