Churches and chapels in East Norway
East Norway invites you to a rich church history
The sister churches on Hadeland is a landmark from the Middle Ages and along the Pilgrimsleden you can view both Balke and Hoff Church in Østre Toten and Ringsaker Church, all beautiful medieval churches.
Newer church buildings such as Seegård in Snertingdalen is also well worth a visit. There you can experience Håkon Gullvåg's beautiful altarpiece. Gjøvik Church's altarpiece also has a special history, as it is the first painted by a woman - Asta Nørregård.
