Lenaelva

The Lenaelva river flows from Totenåsen into lake Mjøsa in Østre Toten.

Trout and grayling are the most numerous species and from Landheim, Lenaelva is a pure trout river.

Ice fishing for trout is popular in winter and spring. Grayling fishing in the river is good, both spring and summertime.
Sundvika at the mouth of Lenaelva is a river delta rich in fish - mostly perch but also pike, which spawn in Sundvika.

Further up the river is the Høljedammen pond, which is the first stop for the Mjøsa trout. The Hølja river is a tributary to Høljedammen.

The next area is Skreia, which is an easily accessible fishing spot. The pond here is the furthest spawning ground for the grayling, higher up it is all trout fishing.

The next 10-kilometre section of the river, called Krabyskogen, offers good fishing. In this area the river runs through a canal, to prevent flooding, but there are still natural ponds where you can catch trout of up to a kilo.

Further upstream from Krabyskogen you reach Kloppen. At times, the fish in both areas are quite small, so fish with care.

Once you reach Lena, you can fish with fly, hook and bait in Håjendammen. The area around the sports area is also a good starting point. The further upriver you go, the more tributaries flow into it.

The last populated area along Lenaelva is Kolbu, which has many fishing places suitable for families with small children.

Note!

Between 10 September and 1 January there are restrictions on fishing in Lenaelva.

Change places frequently, no more than 15 mins in each spot.

All anglers must move in a downstream direction.

The minimum fish size is 25 cm, and any fish smaller than this must be carefully put back in the water.
